The Birmingham-based business, which is listed in The Grocer’s Big 30 Wholesaler list, is using the messenger to target thousands of its most-engaged customers with regular WhatsApp Business API communications.
Lioncroft is using the channel to send the latest offers, promotions and insights to customers, and aims to increase engagement in its communications – with other ProConnect users in the sector achieving an average of 73% open rates on messages.
“We’ve used free WhatsApp in the past, but wanted to professionalise the way we worked,” explained CEO, Dr Jason Wouhra OBE.
“ProConnect allows us to easily analyse engagement, schedule messages and segment our audience to help us get the best return from our messaging.
“We were also impressed by the raft of extra features available to use once we’ve established the channel, including the ability to send interactive messages that can generate orders and collect data, and in-message AI chat assistants.”
ProConnect is tailored to the needs of the wholesale sector, with regular updates going live to enhance the experience for users and their customers.
Lioncroft joins a host of other leading wholesalers and suppliers using ProConnect, including the likes of Bestway and Booker.
“It’s great to add Lioncroft to our raft of industry ProConnect users and is huge feather in the cap because they’re so well respected by their peers,” said ProConnect CEO Rob Mannion.
“There’s no mistaking the impact WhatsApp is having on the way wholesalers and suppliers are communicating with their customers and driving additional revenue into their businesses.
“With more feature launches planned in the near future, we hope to work closely with Lioncroft to help them achieve even greater engagement.”
