A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd has extended the offering of its charitable trust to provide additional support to its independent retailers.

SPAR retailers Komal Patel (centre) and Minesh Patel (right) mark the opening
of their new Hedgerley store in Slough with a £200 donation to their
nominated good cause, Crohns & Colitus UK.

As well as an existing scheme that matches retailers’ fundraising for good causes up to £200, the Blakemore Foundation will now be offering independent SPAR retailers standalone monetary donations of up to £200 to award to good causes of their choice.

In particular, there will be a new focus on supporting store launches, with retailers opening a new site being encouraged to apply for a £200 donation to support a nominated good cause in their local community.

The Blakemore Foundation charitable trust was established by the Blakemore family in 1992 and over the last 10 years has donated more than £1.7 million to good causes across the company’s trading area, which stretches across central England and all of Wales.
