AB InBev UK & Ireland has today announced the appointment of Jess Markowski to the newly created role of Sales Director – Convenience and Wholesale, bolstering the brewer’s off-trade sales team. Markowski’s promotion follows her success leading the convenience retail team.

Formerly Account Controller for Convenience and Head of Trade Marketing, in her new role Markowski will be responsible for growing AB InBev’s presence in the convenience channel, a key strategic part of AB InBev’s off-trade business.

Markowski joined AB InBev in 2008 and during her time at the company has worked in several roles both in the UK and in Europe, within commercial functions and in Category Management. She has extensive experience within the off-trade sector having worked with a number of key off-trade customers throughout her career: both at AB InBev and in previous roles at Reckitt Benckiser and Bacardi Brown-Forman Brands.

Jessica Markowski, Incoming Sales Director – Convenience and Wholesale for AB InBev UK & Ireland, said: “I’m excited to progress into this new role, helping to increase the presence of our brands in retail and wholesale outlets across the UK. The shopper’s behaviour is changing: consumers now shop more regularly, and the location, accessibility and breadth of choice available in convenience stores cater to these needs. I’m looking forward to working with the team on maintaining momentum across our business and accelerating the success of our global brands, Stella Artois, Budweiser and Corona and newer arrivals like Bud Light and Michelob ULTRA.”

Martin Yntema, Off Trade Sales Director for AB InBev UK & Ireland, said: “I’m delighted to announce Jess’ appointment. This newly created role of Sales Director – Convenience and Wholesale reflects the increasing importance of the convenience channel to our overall off-trade growth strategy. Jess has done a fantastic job developing the off-trade business so I’m sure she will continue to be a success in her new role.”

In addition to driving growth in the off-trade business, Markowski is passionate about developing people and is a key sponsor for some of AB InBev’s most important development initiatives. These include graduate recruitment, the undergraduate scholarship program as well as being a steering committee member of AB InBev’s D&I panel and the Women in Beer Business resource group.

AB InBev’s UK & Ireland business consists of over 1,000 employees across three breweries in Magor, South Wales; Samlesbury, Lancashire and Enfield, North London and offices in London. The company brews and distributes some of the world’s most valuable beer brands, such as Stella Artois, Budweiser and Corona, as well as local beers like Bass, Boddingtons and Camden Hells lager.
