The Spring Cool range is now easier to understand, incorporating a cleaner, fresher, more contemporary standard brand identity across the range. The range now comprises Irish Spring Water; Spring Cool Fruit Flavoured Waters; Spring Cool 105 (one of your five a day); Spring Cool X:ITE and the new Spring Cool Cola.
The appeal of the new look was researched first hand in school environments. Martin Armitt, marketing controller at Aimia Foods, says: “We wanted the fruit content in our recipes to be reflected directly in the packaging in a fun and characterful way and therefore asked children, who are the ultimate discerning consumers, whether they would go for the new look. To our delight the new design got a 95 per cent approval rating.”
The addition of the new cola product is one of the most significant developments within the Spring Cool range. Cola has been missing from school menus since 2007 when the school food nutrition standards were introduced, but it still holds a staggering 52 per cent share of the packaged soft drinks market. Aimia has therefore recreated an authentic cola, which has 50 per cent juice, no artificial colours or flavours and complies fully with nutrition guidelines.
Spring Cool lines up next to Aimia’s other school drinks, Juicebreak, Milkbreak and Outspan Smoothies, and provides a comprehensive range of ready to drink products which comply with nutritional guidelines in handy 500ml and 330ml sizes. Spring Cool was acquired by Aimia in 2009 and the company has subsequently carried out extensive research to improve and develop the products in-line with the requirements of schools.
The school friendly cola is on sale now and the new Spring Cool brand packs will be available from June.
