Biona, the number one organic food supplier to leading UK retailers, is introducing a large range of new organic snack products in November, to meet the needs of a growing number of consumers who are looking for naturally delicious snacks offering permissible indulgence that don’t compromise on taste.
Most excitingly of all, Biona is bringing three completely new organic snack ranges to market. The first of these is two Biona Coconut Cluster Bites, in both Cacao and Sweetly Toasted flavours. Made with crisp coconut chips and nutrient dense crunchy seeds for a deliciously satisfying bite, these versatile new cluster bites can be sprinkled on top of yogurt or enjoyed as an on-the-go snack and have an RRP of £3.69 for each 100g pack. Next comes two new Biona Fruit & Nut bars in Almond Raisin and Cashew and Cranberry flavours. Packed with organic ingredients to deliver a satisfying blend of textures and flavours in every bite, these new bars have an RRP of £2.99 for a pack of three. Lastly, Biona is launching two new Oat Bars, one a Chocolate variant and the other a Mixed Nut one. Crafted with gluten-free wholegrain oats and puffed quinoa, both these bars are a source of fibre, and come with an RRP of £2.99 for a pack of three.
Then, following the successful launches of Biona’s Organic Coconut Wafer Rolls and Organic Chocolate Bars at the start of the year, which collectively became the brand’s fastest-selling NPD via their direct-to-consumer website, the brand is also introducing two new flavours for the Coconut Wafer Rolls range in Strawberry and Passionfruit as well as two variants for the chocolate bar range, in the form of a Peanut Caramel Chocolate bar and a Caramel Fudge Chocolate bar. The two new Wafer Rolls have an RRP of £3.69 and the two new bars have an RRP of £4.99 for a three-pack.
Last year, Innova Market Insights reported that one in five global consumers are now looking for healthier versions of indulgent snacks. The report added that ‘naturalness’ is the leading attribute consumers look for when purchasing a healthy snack, which was cited by 32% of respondents, ahead of ‘low/no sugar’ (28%), ‘high protein’ (27%) and ‘high fibre’ (27%). In addition, Mintel this year identified ‘Clean Label’ as the number one innovation territory in UK snacking.
Abigail Messeter, Marketing Manager at Windmill Organics, comments; “We know consumers are looking for snacks that deliver on both taste and quality, with natural, recognisable ingredients. Snacking has been a real growth area for Windmill this year, and we’re delighted to be expanding our range of natural chocolate bars and popular coconut wafer rolls in time for Christmas. We’d encourage retailers to respond to the growing demand for naturally sweet treats, with products that offer indulgence while moving away from highly processed ingredients.”
This month, Windmill Organics have also launched new Biona Organic Pretzel Thins, ProFusion Protein Puffs Himalayan Salt, ProFusion Tamari Roasted Almonds, ProFusion Tamari Roasted Cashews and three new RAW Cake Bites.
