buster.jpgBuster brand manufacturer Challs International is working exclusively with Asda to raise nearly £30,000 for this year’s BBC Children in Need campaign. Starting in September and running until November, 27p from each bottle of Buster Kitchen Sink Fresh and Bathroom Sink Fresh sold in all Asda stores will be donated to the well known national charity. Special Buster pack collars, which include a picture of Children in Need mascot Pudsey Bear, have been produced to mark the 12 week promotion.

Buster brand manager Louise Perry, said: “The last 12 months have been phenomenal for Buster which has increased its market share from 20.1% in July 2007 to 34.5% in July 2008. Buster is the only drain care brand to show market share growth over this period in a category which achieved an overall growth of 6.4%. Therefore, we can confidently say that Buster is currently driving the sector forward.

“We are delighted to team up with Asda for this extremely worthwhile promotion which will see BBC Children in Need share in Buster’s success. We estimate this partnership will raise around £28,000.”

Buster’s winning performance is due to its unique product segmentation into kitchen and bathroom products and also unblocking and freshening solutions. The brand’s growth has been further boosted by a strong TV advertising campaign, the only one currently running for a plughole care brand with primetime slots on ITV1, Channel 4 and GMTV.

Lucy Gowans at Asda said: “We are so happy that Buster has come on board this year to help us raise the awareness of the BBC Children in Need charity. We now hope to generate as much money as possible to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people around the UK.”
