The largest foodservice company operating across the Channel Islands, Cimandis, which is part of the Caterfood Buying Group, has recently launched 190 new products, available exclusively to Channel Islands customers from Cimandis.

Several of these new ranges were debuted to customers in Guernsey last week, with the help of more than 20 different suppliers – who travelled to the Channel Islands specially to support Cimandis and the Caterfood Buying Group in what was their first Premier and Artisan trade show in Guernsey on 17th July. The NPD push and trade show has been led by Gavin Scott, Caterfood Buying Group’s Director of Business Development.

From the prestigious Koffman’s loaded fries, Smash Burgers that cook in under two minutes, from Glenfield’s Foods, to indulgent Yarde Farm ice creams, La Lorraine doughnuts, Italian hand-made pizzas, from Passione Pizza, exquisite Greek food from Odysea, a wide selection of top-quality breads and pastries from Bridor and oils, dressings and nut mixes from Belazu – there was a lot to sample and explore. The full new product launch from Cimandis includes 190 new products and covers everything from fresh Daily Dose juices to micro herbs to handmade cakes and British beef; all of which are available exclusively to Channel Islands customers through Cimandis.

Director of Business Development at Caterfood Buying Group, Gavin Scott, said: “We really appreciate our suppliers making the trip to Guernsey to demo their products and the trade show was really well attended, with a lot of great conversations taking place. There’s nothing better than being able to talk to customers about the products and get their feedback there and then.

“The range of foods and drinks that Cimandis can supply to hotels and restaurants to offer their guests will now be greatly expanded, which will be great for the Channel Island’s tourism sector. We’ve also seen a rise in high-quality, gluten-free foods from suppliers, which is fantastic and makes catering for gluten-free customers so much easier.”

Cimandis supports many hospitality and independent establishments, from beach-side vendors to some of the best hotels across the Channel Islands – including delivering to Herm and Sark, where there are no cars allowed on the islands and deliveries are made by horse and cart! To meet the tourism needs of the islands, Cimandis requires a high calibre of products and wide range to meet the needs of its customers, and expectations of holiday makers.

Nigel Holliday, Managing Director of Cimandis, added: “We’ve been doing a lot of work to refine and elevate our product offering over the last few months and we’re really excited by the quality of these new products. Naturally, our hospitality industry is so important to island life and we want to make sure that our customers have the best products in order to create the best experiences for their guests. There’s a lot of good things going on at Cimandis at the moment and we’re really pleased with the turnout at the trade show – and the support we’ve had from Gavin Scott in getting all of this actioned.”
