More than 200 grocery colleagues recently headed down to the Emirates Stadium for the sixth GroceryAid Quiz Night, raising £35k for GroceryAid.

The evening, kindly sponsored by Heineken UK Ltd saw teams tackle six testing rounds hosted by Sky News presenter Tom Macleod. A higher or lower bonus round based on GroceryAid knowledge also saw some fierce competition and congratulations goes to Jonathan Westlake from Dairy Crest on his impressive charity knowledge.

It was the fittingly named ‘Bright Sparks’ team from Sparkler who claimed glory as they edged a nail-biting clash with last year’s champs the Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) by just two points, with Greencore Group finishing third. With this win Sparkler claimed back the title they had earned during the inaugural GroceryAid Quiz Night in 2012. The winning prize? A mouth-watering private cookery lesson at Jamie Oliver’s Cookery School.

The team from Bakkavor Group commented; “Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable quiz evening. We all had a brilliant time and it was very well organised.”

Our thanks go to all the teams who supported GroceryAid and took part in the Quiz Night this year, helping to raise much-needed funds for those in need.

Thanks also go to our sponsors including; Britvic UK plc Heineken UK Ltd, Highland Spring Group, J Sainsbury plc, Marks and Spencer plc, Mars (UK) and PepsiCo, Tesco plc whose contribution enabled the evening to be such a success.
