Chubb, one of the leading providers of fire safety and security solutions, has recently completed a major integrated security installation for a long standing customer of 20+ years, The Wine Society.

Founded in 1874, The Wine Society located in Stevenage, is the world’s oldest member-owned community of wine lovers. With a rich heritage of nearly 150 years, the Society has established trusted relationships with its buyers and growers and has successfully grown with its thousands of loyal members.

Chubb secured the contract for installing an integrated security solution for The Wine Society’s new warehouse, which involved installing an intruder alarm system, CCTV and access control. The impressive warehouse is 70m long and 23m high with over 6,000m2 of floor space, the equivalent to the size of a Premier League football pitch. It has been specially designed using the latest in temperature moderating technology and includes facilities for solar panels as well as electric charging stations.

The Galaxy Dimension intruder alarm system installed was an addition to the existing system Chubb had fitted in the previous warehouses, and covered the shutters, offices, warehouse and provided full perimeter protection.

A separate CCTV system was installed consisting of 20 IP cameras, including external PTZs and fixed cameras on a 32-Channel Network Video Recorder (NVR).

In addition, a new access control system was installed on site, providing secure access management for employees, contractors and visitors to the Society’s warehouses and offices. The full installation took just over a year to complete.
