After another tumultuous year for the UK economy, Confex is pleased to announce growth and welcome 2 new Members, Cressco and Metro Cash and Carry, both based in Scotland, to the group. In its 50th year, Confex is delighted to report YTD, the group is up 72% value & 78% volume, which shows the resilience of the diverse Membership and takes them to the landmark figure of £3bn combined turnover. New Members Cresso and Metro Cash and Carry, adding a further £50m to this.

The Cress Company (Cressco) is a fine food distributor based in Dunfermline, Fife, offering the very best in ambient, chilled and speciality products.

The company started in 2004 from a small lock-up, in Perth, Scotland, with a handful of artisan producers looking for local distribution. Since then, the business has grown significantly and they now deliver 1000s of ambient and chilled, stock and pre-order lines nationwide from their warehouse and distribution depots in Dunfermline, Telford, Leighton Buzzard, and Maltby, with further expansion planned for 2023.

Metro Cash and Carry are a Glasgow-based foodservice operation servicing restaurants, cafes and takeaways which specialise ethnic and continental produce, along with a wide range of packaging and cleaning products.

Managing Director Abrar Ahmad, at Metro, says, “We are particularly excited to join Confex to access the CORE range, and work more closely with top suppliers. Metro Cash and Carry are looking forward to adding a variety of fresh lines to our offering and we look forward to working with Confex to grow our business.”
