RH Amar’s Cooks&Co brand has launched a new range of olives and capers, especially for foodservice operators. The range, which includes green, black and mixed olives alongside a choice of capers, delivers high quality, simply sourced and flavourful ingredients in a selection of catering formats to offer operators an easy and convenient catering solution.
The launch is supported by recent Cooks&Co research which reveals that over 80% of consumers consider quality ingredients important to their dining experience[2]. In addition to being part of their meal, nearly half of respondents (43%) said they expected to be offered olives as a bar snack or appetiser when going out. This figure rises to 55% amongst Millenials (25-34 year olds)[3] demonstrating the strong demand for olives.
The research also revealed that variety of offer is important to diners with over 55% saying they would like to be offered a variety of olives when dining out[4]. Health was also a consideration, particularly amongst Millennials, with 72% of this age group believing olives to be healthier than other bar snacks, such as crisps[5].

Samples offer a strong opportunity to entice consumers to try new products, with 40% of consumers surveyed stating that they would give olives and capers a try if samples are offered[7]. This demonstrates the importance of being able to taste new ingredients1. Recommendations however also come into play with nearly a quarter (24%)[8] of consumers saying they would be encouraged to try new products following a recommendation by a member of staff.
Cooks&Co’s olives and capers range is available in catering formats from 1kg tubs to 4.1 kg tins from RH Amar. The full range, which is available now, includes:
