The Country Range brand, widely regarded as the leaders and innovators in foodservice, has reformulated its range of pudding and bread mixes so they conform to the 2024 HFSS guidelines.
The full range, which is available through the Country Range Group network of wholesalers, includes the Sponge & Pudding Mix, Chocolate Sponge & Pudding Mix, Carrot Cake Mix, Scone Mix, Crumble Mix, Suet Pastry Mix, Pizza Base Mix and a White Bread & Roll Mix.
The new 2024 HFSS guidelines now require an average of 0.40g and a maximum of 0.66g salt per 100g for cakes and an average of 0.85g and a maximum of 1.01g salt per 100g for bread and rolls.
The Country Range Selection
Country Range Sponge & Pudding Mix – 4 x 3.5kg and 12.5kg
This sponge and pudding mix is so easy, just add water to create a wonderful steamed pudding or a classic Victoria sponge. With a salt content of 0.08g per 100g, it falls well below the HFSS guidelines for 2024.
Country Rage Chocolate Sponge & Pudding Mix – 4 x 3.5kg
A flavourful chocolate sponge mix which just needs the addition of water, making it extremely easy to use with approximately 21 x 255g portions. 0.09g of salt per 100g.
Country Range Crumble Mix – 4 x 3.5kg
A delicious crumble mix, ready to sprinkle over your favourite fruit filling. This crumble mix is perfect for sweet dishes. 0.1g of salt per 100g.
Country Range Suet Pastry Mix – 4 x 3.5kg
An easy-to-prepare mix to make suet pastry, for delicious steamed sweet and savoury puddings. 0.36g of salt per 100g.
Country Range White Bread & Roll Mix – 4 x 3.5kg
An easy-to-use mix with only the addition of water required to make both sweet and savoury dishes. This bread mix also meets the school nutrition guidelines and with a salt content of 0.69g per 100g, it falls well below the HFSS guidelines for 2024.
Country Range Pizza Base Mix – 4 x 3.5kg
An easy-to-use mix, requiring the addition of water. Finish with a variety of cheese, tomato and toppings for a quick and delicious pizza. 0.55g of salt per 100g.
Country Range Scone Mix – 4 x 3.5kg
This mix for plain scones is ideal for afternoon tea celebrations but it can also be added to with fruit, grated cheese or chocolate chips. 0.31g of salt per 100g.
Country Range Carrot Cake Mix – 4 x 3.5kg
A simple to use mix for a tasty, moist carrot cake which only needs the addition of water making it perfect for caterers. 0.56g of salt per 100g.
