On Tuesday 19th January 2027, Destination 2028, will explore “Acquisition, Innovation and Resilience: how Wholesale & Convenience is leading the industry.”

Perfectly timed the day after the gloomiest day of the calendar – Blue Monday – this year’s Destination Conference promises a day of inspiration, insight, lively discussion and networking with thought leaders from across the Wholesale & Convenience sector.

Co-organised by Clare Bocking, Managing Director of Immediate Impact, and Amy Searle, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Joe Public PR, Destination 2028 is also a charity fundraising event for Mines Advisory Group (MAG). Proceeds from the event go towards MAG’s work in removing landmines and munitions left behind by war, and helping affected communities rebuild their lives.

Over 130 incredible people from the wholesale and convenience sector have been cycling globally for the past 11 years, raising vital funds for MAG through the industry’s long-standing challenges. The final ride will take place in early February, and Destination 2028 will help bring the industry’s total fundraising closer to its £2 million goal.

“Our Destination Conferences gives our industry the chance to step back, share what we’re learning and look ahead together,” says Clare Bocking, Managing Director of Immediate Impact. “Wholesale and convenience is changing quickly, and the conversations between leaders, suppliers and partners can help turn that change into opportunity. I’m looking forward to sharing some of those fantastic developments and hearing how the key levers of acquisition, innovation and resilience are being used to create sustainable growth.”

The programme includes presentations on opportunities created through Acquisition from Debbie Robinson – CEO of OurCo-op and Andrew Selley – CEO of Bidfood, serial entrepreneur Simon Gray from It’s Giving and Amrit Singh from S.V Wholesale, plus David Cooke, Gary Mullineux, Coral Rose and Jess Douglas will share growth opportunities created through Resilience. More incredible speakers will be announced next week.

There will also be an energetic panel discussion with some of the most influential convenience store owners up and down the country who are doing exceptional things with their businesses in their local communities.

“We’ve deliberately designed our Destination Conference to be completely relaxed and informal,” explains Amy Searle, MD & Co-founder of Joe Public PR. “It’s about creating an energetic environment for long-standing relationships to grow. There is real, tangible commercial value to be gained at the conference. Previous conference sponsors have walked away with major listings and long-term collaborations. It’s the kind of support and connection you simply can’t force in a boardroom meeting or over a cold call.”

Jessica Rogers of Teffie, a previous event sponsor, says: “Destination was a brilliant conference for us! As a sponsor, all attendees got to sample and understand Teffie. What’s more, introductions to the speakers and industry leaders resulted in significant new listings and fantastic marketing collaborations. It was a very successful day for Teffie.”

If you want to grow through Wholesale and Convenience, it’s a must attend event!
