One of the UK’s favourite ciders, Frosty Jack’s has partnered with JOE.CO.UK to undertake sampling of ‘alcoholic’ apples.

Filmed before, COVID-19 lockdown, members of the public were asked if they would like to try the product, which was presented as the newest addition to the Frosty Jack’s range, with many falling for the ruse. Tasters were told how the apples had been infused with cider to create alcoholic apples, but in fact, they were simply normal eating apples.

The video is a light-hearted reference that Frosty Jack’s is a cider and, therefore, made from apples, building on a previous video designed to change perceptions surrounding the brand https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=740399819728534&extid=Bnnkh4ecvi27nrw5. The idea was part of Frosty Jack’s humorous, tongue-in-cheek social media content. The resulting film is running on JOE.CO.UK’s social channels from 16 September – https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1010775466068514&extid=A9o12krh99Ot9LwP – and will be shared across the cider brand’s social channels as well.

Grace Anthony, brand manager for Frosty Jack’s cider at Aston Manor Cider, commented: “The Frosty Jack’s brand is known for its humour and we enjoy creating light-hearted content to share with our audiences.

“The idea behind the news-style video was to see how far the public’s imagination would take them, and whether they would believe our product innovation and development would lead us to produce alcoholic, cider apples! Plenty of them did, but we were quick to reveal the truth off-camera and ensure they were all happy to be part of the joke and resulting film.

“We hope people enjoy the video and have a bit of a giggle.”
