Grace Foods UK, the leading supplier of Caribbean food and drink in the UK, has announced the appointment of Michael Ranglin as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Michael will be based at Grace Foods UK’s headquarters in Welwyn Garden City, but also retains his current position of Deputy CEO of GK Foods, one of the Caribbean’s largest and most dynamic corporate entities.
A qualified chemical engineer, Michael has worked for GK Foods in Jamaica for over a decade, during which time he has held senior positions in quality control, procurement, manufacturing, commercial and general management.
He said: “I am looking forward to playing a leading role in accelerating the growth of the UK’s Caribbean food and drink sector. It is already one of the fastest-growing areas of the dynamic ethnic food market, driven by consumers seeking new taste experiences or trying to recapture the essence of their overseas holidays.”
Grace Foods UK accounts for 37 per cent of the £93 million Caribbean food and drink market which is growing at 3.6 per cent year on year. The company supplies numerous category-leading products, including the nutritionally enriched milk drink, Nurishment, and the spicy range of Encona Sauces.
