Greenall’s, the no.2 standard gin in the UK off trade, has introduced Greenall’s Black Cherry Gin to its popular, flavoured gin range, launching in the UK as the summer season gets underway. [1]

Greenall’s conducted consumer research to find the next big flavour that would appeal to both current and potential gin shoppers with just over half of respondents saying that cherry would be an appealing flavour to them.

The research went on to reveal that 81% of total shoppers agreed that Greenall’s Black Cherry was a product that they would consider purchasing and 74% of total shoppers said that they would buy it in addition to their current alcohol purchases?.[2]

Greenall’s Black Cherry, a bold fruity flavour balanced with the character of Greenall’s Original London Dry Gin, provides a distinctive taste that packs an exciting & luscious fruity punch. It’s made with natural black cherries and, unlike many other flavoured gins, without the addition of sugar or sweeteners.

Greenall’s Black Cherry is the latest innovation from the iconic brand which turns 260 years old this year and has been created by renowned Master Distiller, Joanne Moore, at the world’s foremost gin distillery, G&J Distillers, in Warrington. Reaffirming the brand’s position as the leader in mindful ‘ginnovation’, the new flavour continues the brand’s mission to respect the rich heritage, craftsmanship and traditions of gin, whilst also showcasing the category’s versatility and relevance.

The new expression will complement Greenall’s existing Wild Berry, Blueberry and Blood Orange & Fig flavoured gin offering.  The launch of Greenall’s Black Cherry will add a fourth eye catching SKU to the colourful range thanks to its bold purple bottle, helping to drive further stand out on shelf.

Stacey Kong, Global Marketing Manager for Greenall’s Gin, comments; “Following the success of the existing Greenall’s flavoured gin range, which has proven incredibly popular with consumers, we’re really excited to be adding Black Cherry into the mix.

“Our consumer research found that gin drinkers crave familiar flavours, and Black Cherry really appealed to them, but wasn’t readily already available on the market. This is the first black cherry flavoured gin that will be available to the public, and we are confident it will do well.

Priced at £15 for a 70cl bottle, Greenall’s Black Cherry Gin will launch across the UK in selected Bargain Booze stores from 25th May, followed by amazon.co.uk and selected wholesalers later this year.
