Colleagues from across the industry joined together on Thursday 12th September for a three day cycle starting from Saputo Dairy UK in Weybridge and ending beneath the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris. Over 70 riders finished the 240 mile journey, which included completing an epic 105 miles from Caen to Vernon on day two

The challenge event which was sponsored by Warburtons saw cyclists from 23 companies raise over £100K, which will provide over 330 series of counselling sessions for colleagues in need of support with their mental wellbeing.

Scott Snell, Vice President Customer UK&I at Pladis, who joined the ride for the first time commented, “The GroceryAid London to Paris ride was a fantastic event. It was a great opportunity to build relationships with my team and colleagues across the industry. Personally, I found the ride a real challenge and I am proud of completing it. It you haven’t done it before, get yourself signed up for next year…. you’ll love it!”

The event, also sponsored this year by Booker, Ginsters, McVities, Reckitt Benckiser and Stateside Foods, is a cornerstone in the GroceryAid calendar, offering the unique proposition of a team or personal challenge combined with the opportunity to build lifelong friendships with industry colleagues.

Next year’s event will take place on 10-13th September 2020.  For more details contact events@groceryaid.org.uk or 01252 875925.
