Demonstrating its leading position as the UK’s No. 1 character confectionery company, Kinnerton Confectionery has signed a number of sought-after new licences for Christmas 2008. Top performing children’s cartoon and animated favourites Numberjacks, Ben 10 and The Mr Men Show with updated Mr Men and Little Miss characters, are all set to join Kinnerton’s existing powerful portfolio of evergreen licences, which include The Simpsons, Thomas the Tank Engine, Spiderman, Barbie and Winnie the Pooh.
The new signings underpin the company’s acknowledged ongoing strategy to ensure character dominance in core confectionery formats.
THE NEW LICENCES
Winner of the Royal Television Society Award for the Best Educational Pre-School programme, Numberjacks [target audience: 4 -5 year olds] is the first children’s series to focus on mathematics. A mixture of computer-generated animation and live action, it is currently the UK’s no. 1 pre-school rated show having sold over 150,000 DVDs to date – with a fourth DVD due out this spring.
The American animated television series Ben 10 [target audience: boys 6 – 11 years] follows the action-packed adventures of 10-year-old Ben Tennyson, who discovers a strange alien watch in a crashed meteorite. With number one rating on the Cartoon Network, a Live Action Movie is planned for 2008.
The established classic children’s stories featuring the loveable Mr Men and Little Miss characters are back on TV screens in a new show for Channel 5’s Milkshake! UK. With an amazing 100 million books sold worldwide, The Mr Men Show [target audience: 4 – 7 year olds] is set to attract a new generation of young fans.
