A new member-owned buying group, National Buying Consortium (NBC), is set to launch on 1st July. NBC will partner with leading FMCG wholesalers and suppliers to offer a forward-thinking and unified delivered wholesale solution to the UK market.
As a member-owned company, NBC will provide complete transparency across all operations, with every member being given the opportunity to influence the development and management of the group. This approach offers a united partnership between members, suppliers and the buying group, meaning everybody has access to the best opportunities.
NBC is launching with a highly-experienced management team at the helm. Leading this team as Chairman is Stuart Lane, Sales Director at Lansdell Soft Drinks — he brings over 30 years of diverse experience in the FMCG market and has a strong company vision to ensure that NBC is at the forefront of the industry.
Stuart is joined by Deputy Chairman Jason Langmead, Managing Director at V.W.T. Wholesalers & Distributors. Jason has over 35 years’ FMCG trade experience where he has built solid relationships across the sector.
Leading the organisation’s day-to-day operations will be Managing Director David Lunt. David has over 35 years’ experience in the wholesale and cash and carry trade, notably as Wholesale National Account Manager for Wrigley and most recently Senior Business Development Director at Confex.
The business will also benefit from the expertise of two industry advisors, who have gained considerable experience within the sector with companies such as Diageo, Reckitt Benckiser, GSK and Cadbury.
Of the launch, Chairman Stuart Lane commented:

In addition to NBC, the team are also launching National Distribution Network (NDN). NDN is a flexible warehousing and logistics service that supports members’ businesses who cannot meet Supplier Direct Account criteria by offering lower minimum orders at net pricing across a wide range of products.
