Lomond: The Wholesale Food Co has launched an own label cooked meats range in response to customer demand for locally sourced, top-quality products.

The new range, which includes sliced cooked meats and joints such as pulled smoked ham hock, sliced topside beef and sliced honeyglazed gammon, has just launched, replacing Lomond’s previous supplier.

“We have spent the past six months creating this range with our Scottish manufacturing partner to deliver a heightened-quality product at a Lomond best price,” said Barbara Henderson, director, Lomond.

“This decision reflects our strategy to deliver top quality locally sourced products and our reputation means our customers recognise that a Lomond product will deliver the best quality, value pricing and truly excellent service.”

The brand new Lomond range follows the Glasgow-based wholesaler’s decision to dedicate 50% of its annual trade show, Taste@Lomond, to local Scottish produce. This was proved so popular with customers that Sam and Barbara Henderson, Lomond’s directors, recognised the need for a dedicated guide to Scottish produce.

The guide, which features 69 Scottish producers, was created following the success of the Glasgow-based wholesaler’s trade show, Taste@Lomond.

The guide contains a wide-reaching range of Scottish produce, from cakes, cooked meats and dairy products to crisps, confectionery, bakery and beverages.
