Mason Foodservice, a family-owned food wholesaler based in Leicestershire, has announced an exciting expansion designed to enhance its ability to deliver exceptional value to customers.

This expansion comes as Mason’s approaches its 80th anniversary in 2025, a significant milestone that highlights its long-standing legacy in the industry. Recognising the need to accommodate growth and better serve its customers, the company has added an impressive 20,000 square feet of warehouse space to its existing two warehouses of 14,000 square feet, ensuring ample capacity for its growing operations. This new facility, acquired outright through company funds, reflects a decisive investment in the future of the wholesaler.

The Sterling Supergroup is a highly respected members’ buying cooperative, consisting of independent food wholesalers throughout the UK and Ireland. By leveraging their collective purchasing power, they can secure competitive pricing and access to a wide range of products. Through this partnership, Mason’s has formed exciting new supplier relationships with renowned brands, including Britannia Sugars, Delifrance, Sasco Sauces, Nestle, Proper Cornish, Unilever, and many more suppliers. These collaborations enable the company to offer a more extensive product range, stock larger volumes, and deliver enhanced value with more competitive pricing for customers.

Mason’s has a rich history rooted in customer focus. Founded in 1945 by Reg Mason, the company began as a fresh fish and poultry business run from a single van. Over the decades, it has evolved under the guidance of Reg’s son Grahame from supplying fresh fish to becoming a pioneer in wholesale frozen foods. Adapting to market demands and shifting trends, In 2000, when Reg’s grandson George Mason joined the company. Rebranding it as Mason Foodservice in 2019 and expanding the product portfolio to include bakery, ambient, chilled, and cleaning products. Today, Mason Foodservice is renowned for its exceptional service, fair pricing, and ability to meet the diverse needs of clients ranging from restaurants to care homes.

This expansion was driven by key milestones, including the company outgrowing its previous two storage spaces and identifying the need for greater capacity to meet customer demand.
