Reflecting changing times in the wholesale industry, a growing number of women are listed as finalists for this year’s FWD Gold Medal Awards, which mark the FWD’s centenary. Taking place on Thursday 29 November in the former wholesale market at Old Billingsgate, and open to wholesalers and suppliers, the Awards recognise the individuals, teams, products and initiatives that have had a significant impact on the wholesale channel’s success in the past year.

Sandra Morris, Filshill is up for best Depot Team Member and Katie Sillars, Bidfood, Scotland is up for Young Wholesaler. Customer Support nominees include Joyce Johnston, JW Filshill and Victoria Nicholson, Booker Gateshead. Sandra Morris, Katie Sillars and Joyce Johnston’s entries were prepared by the Women In Wholesale (WiW) team as part of WiW’s mission to support more women to progress in the industry.

Other women finalists include the best Telesales Executive shortlist, who are all women: Alma Hoque, EFG Foodservice, Janette Loughrey, Bidfood, Wakefield and Louise Thompson, Bestway Wholesale, and Amy Ankrah, Boost Drinks, shortlisted for Gold Medal Young Supplier of the Year.
