With drinks entrepreneur and founder Lucy Smith predicting a margarita heatwave this summer, her supremely stylish, flavoured tequila brand Neurita has further fortified its offering with the roll out of its new spicy Neurita Tequila Blanco Picante.
Tapping into the growing popularity of spicy margaritas and other chilli-based serves, Neurita Picante (35% abv) is made with the finest agave Tequila Blanco, which is then infused with natural fiery Scotch Bonnet chilli, green chilli and tangerine extracts.
Specially crafted for margaritas, Neurita provides the perfect, low sugar base for classic margarita cocktails and other tequila serves meaning additional sugary liqueurs are not required.
For a delicious, speedy spicy margarita, simply add 50ml Neurita Picante, 40ml lime juice and a 10ml of agave syrup with ice to a cocktail shaker.
Now available to the wholesale channel, the Neurita Picante joins the award-winning Neurita Tequila Blanco Citrus and Neurita Tequila Blanco Rosa in the Love Drinks portfolio.
Neurita – Crafted for Margs
Born from a simple, unapologetic love of margaritas, Lucy Smith launch Neurita in October 2022 to inspire a new wave of margarita and tequila drinking.
Feeling a real disconnect between her experience of margaritas and the masculine tequila brands dominating the market, Lucy decided it was time to shake things up.
Aiming to challenge the status quo in male-orientated tequila market, Lucy set about researching, sourcing and testing with the aim of developing a brand that could breathe new life into the iconic margarita cocktail and tequila as a whole.
Made in small batches using the finest agave Tequila Blanco, carefully sourced from one of Jalisco’s most respected producers, the special liquid is then infused by Lucy and her team in the UK with real fruit extracts and botanicals.
Creating shockwaves in the drink industry, the British company won the ‘Best Flavoured Tequila’ category at the World Tequila Awards just six months after launch and over 50,000 Neurita Margaritas were enjoyed in the UK alone in 2023.
Samantha Burke, Managing Director of Love Drinks, commented:
“Drinks with heat are hot-to-trot at present and the spicy margarita is receiving plenty of plaudits so the Neurita Picante launch couldn’t come at a better time. We’re excited to get it in the hands of bartenders and expect big things this summer.”
Neurita Founder and unapologetic margarita aficionado, Lucy Smith, said:
“It took longer than we thought to perfect the recipe but good things come to those who marg so we’re delighted to welcome Picante to the Neurita family for 2024. Our first production run sold out in just a week so we can’t wait to see what the UK’s masterful mixologists and discerning consumers can shake up this summer.”
