Scottish Wholesale Association (SWA) training provider Capita Learning has secured funding from Skills Development Scotland (SDS) to run a fully-funded BCS SCQF Level 7 digital skills training course worth £3,000 per learner.

The course has been specifically designed to focus on data analysis and data presentation, and forms part of the SWA’s ‘Decarbonisation of The Wholesale Industry’ project to help the wholesale industry on the road to net zero.

It will give employees the capability to analyse their company’s data including fleet emissions, route planning and efficiencies, building efficiencies and more.

While the course can be used to upskill an employee in whatever area of data analysis a wholesaler requires, it also has the potential to develop a skilled person capable of undertaking a decarbonisation audit as well as creating a “net-zero champion” within the business.

Funding is currently limited to 20 people, with eligibility criteria applying and the course requiring to be completed by end of March 2022. Applications are open to SWA wholesaler and supplier members but given the cap on numbers, preference will be given to wholesalers in the first instance.

Companies are urged to apply for a place as soon as possible with further information available on the SWA website.
