Growing tea brand launches tag & envelope for catering & hospitality sector

Lancashire Tea, which is currently enjoying year on year growth, has launched a ‘tag and envelope’ black tea proposition for the catering and hospitality sector.

The 2.5g bag is enclosed in the iconic Lancashire Tea packaging designed by local artist ‘Dave Draws’. It features the line drawn map of Lancashire, the familiar red stripe and Lancashire Red Rose all of which are in-keeping with the larger format boxes of tea bags available in all multiple retailers.

The brand, part of the Spicers’ portfolio of teas, has experienced significant growth over the past 12 months and has undertaken a wide range of activity to support the brand.

Digital ad screens across the North West, a reformulation of the brew and an extensive community grant scheme which has seen it donate to and champion local Lancashire charities as part of its ‘Communi-tea’ scheme have been rolled out.

Phil Toms, Head of Marketing, said “The development of the tag and envelope format seems a natural extension for the brand to take us into the currently untouched catering and hospitality sector, allowing people to enjoy our tea while travelling or they are away from home.

“It will also facilitate sampling opportunities, fuelling further growth, as untapped customers in the region taste the best brew in Lancashire and beyond.”

The tea bags are fully biodegradable and the envelope fully recyclable. Lancashire Tea is currently offering potential hospitality customers the chance to receive a quantity of the tag and envelopes free to put them to the test.
