The company is launching JU Skin Smooth (250ml), containing blueberries and acai berries, the latter widely regarded as one of the world’s top super foods linked to slowing the damaging effects to skin that cause signs of ageing.
Andrew Ovens, Daniels Group Marketing Manager, says JU Skin Smooth complements the other variants.
“People are increasingly recognising that their appearance can be maintained naturally from within and are choosing their diet accordingly,” he says.
“Whilst still relatively new to the UK, functional drinks of this kind are well established on the continent. They provide a clear point of difference for consumers and an incremental profit opportunity for retailers.”
The JU range (rrp £1.99) was launched in February, comprising three products – JU Hair Shine, JU Skin Glow and JU Nail Strong, each containing ingredients known to improve the appearance of hair, skin or nails.
The JU range is listed in Waitrose and Harrods, with other retail listings due to be announced shortly.
Daniels Group is one of the UK’s most progressive chilled food companies, with a portfolio that includes Johnson’s Juices, the UK’s best-selling range of freshly-squeezed juices and New Covent Garden soup, market leader in the UK’s £111 million fresh soup category.
