The UK’s leading confectionery wholesaler Hancocks has appointed a new manager to its Glasgow store.

Alice Moran has taken over the role after working within the business in Scotland for the last 25 years.

She takes over as store manager from Kerr Mclaren who has moved to a new position internally as an account manager for World of Sweets.

Alice has worked for Hancocks since 1998, joining the business as a cashier in the Glasgow store when it was on its original site in Port Dundas.

She worked as VDU operator in the office before becoming customer facing first as a supervisor and now as store manager.

Alice will be heading up the 15 strong team at the depot on Blochairn Road which welcomes retail customers from Glasgow and the surrounding area.

Last year the store celebrated Hancocks sixtieth anniversary with a day of celebrations for suppliers and retailers.

It was the eighth depot opened by the wholesaler and remains a popular choice for retailers looking for variety and quality confectionery in Scotland.

Store manager Alice Moran said: “I’m delighted to be appointed as store manager for Glasgow. I’ve worked within the business for a quarter of a century and am most definitely ready to take on this new challenge.

“It’s been an interesting few years for Hancocks. We had the challenges of the pandemic and the fun and excitement around the 60th birthday celebrations which provided a good opportunity to connect with customers and suppliers.

“I’m looking forward to leading the team at Glasgow and working closely with our retail customers over the coming months and years to supply them with the very best confectionery.”

Hancocks is the UKs leading confectionery wholesaler with 14 nationwide cash and carry stores and an online channel www.hancocks.co.uk. Customers can shop online 24/7 with delivery to the door or click and collect options.

Hancocks is the one stop shop for confectionery for over 25,000 independent retailers and is part of the World of Sweets group.
