Kim Clarkson appointed as Head of Partner Services at Nisa, as Peter Batt steps up plans to be independent partner of choice 

Nisa MD, Peter Batt, has appointed Kim Clarkson onto his Senior Leadership Team as Head of Partner Services, to help drive and implement its long-term business plans.

Reporting into Peter, Kim will be responsible for shaping the future direction of the format and development proposition, ensuring continuity of Nisa’s high level of service through stock control, logistics and supply chain functions, as well as delivering a best-in-class partner support service.

Kim joined Nisa in 2017 and has over 20 years of experience within the retail and wholesale sector. Most recently, holding the position as Head of Cost to Serve at Nisa, where she was responsible for identifying ways to improve profitability through proposition, network or customer facing activity, and before that, as Head of Fresh, Frozen and Direct to Store. Prior to joining Nisa, Kim spent 18 years at Sainsbury’s in various Head of Trading roles including Meat, Fish and poultry, Fresh Food, and in store bakery.

Kim will be supported in her role by Karen Hopkinson, who has recently been appointed to head up its independent supply chain and logistics network, as well as managing the relationship with its delivery partner, DHL. Before taking on this role, Karen spent time in various senior operational and category roles at Co-op, Iceland, Welcome Break and latterly Morrisons, where she led the rollout of their MLocal stores. Since coming into role, Karen has already been fundamental in delivering a noticeable step change on availability and strengthening Nisa’s market leading position.

Peter Batt, Managing Director of Nisa, said: “Both Kim and Karen bring a wealth of experience across wholesale, retail and logistics, and I’m delighted to announce their new roles within the business. They have both played a key part in strengthening both the Co-op and Nisa proposition and will be instrumental in helping to shape and deliver on our ambitions to be the wholesale partner of choice.

These appointments are the first to be announced by MD Peter Batt as he bolsters his senior leadership team.
