Premier Foods is continuing to expand its flavourful range of dry mixes with the addition of new Paxo Potato Rosti Cakes, available in Red Onion & Herb and Mixed Veg flavours. The Rosti Cakes can be eaten at breakfast, lunch or dinner, increasing the relevance of Paxo and the dry mix segment.

Paxo is using its expertise in dry mixes to expand beyond its traditional heartland of the roast dinner. Following the successful launch of the Paxo Veggie Fillers and Meat Free Mixes, the Potato Rosti Cakes tap into consumer demand for meat-free options. Consumers are becoming increasingly engaged with meals without meat[1], with 1 billion more occasions than in 2016[2].

The Potato Rosti Cakes mixes from Paxo provide a delicious blend of potato, herbs and vegetables that only require the addition of water to be baked, grilled, or fried into patties. This makes them ideal for consumers who are less confident in the kitchen or need a quick and convenient addition to a main meal that is packed full of flavour. The made-up Rosti Cakes are also non-HFSS, low in in fat as well as a source of fibre.

Mark Alldred, marketing director for flavours and seasonings at Premier Foods said: “Paxo has grown its dry mix offering over recent years, to provide consumers with convenient, tasty and great value products such as Paxo Meat-Free Burger Mix and Paxo Meat-Free Meatball Mix. The versatile Potato Rosti Cakes can be paired with a variety of meals, expanding Paxo past the traditional roast dinner and to other cuisines, and times of consumption throughout the day. By expanding its range, Paxo aims to widen its appeal to attract new shoppers and drive further sales for the category and retailers.”

Paxo Potato Rosti Cakes will be available within the grocery channel from this month, and in wholesale and convenience later this year, with each 120g pack carrying a MRSP* of £1.89.
