On Monday 23 November 2015, Stax Trade Centres hosted a one-off darts event, with the help of 2012 European Darts Champion, Simon ‘The Wizard’ Whitlock. Customers were given the opportunity to get up close and personal with Simon and challenge the player to a round of darts.

Simon WhitlockThe highly talented and charismatic player recently fought an explosive match in the 2015 European Darts Championship, narrowly missing out on a place in the quarter finals to World Champion, Gary Anderson.

David Hibbert, joint managing director at Stax Trade Centres, said: “The event was a huge success for Stax. Simon Whitlock is a household name in the world of darts and we were inundated with customers looking to sign up and challenge him. It was fantastic to see the customers getting involved and enjoying themselves in the store.

“We always strive to connect with our customers and provide a welcoming community for all local tradesmen, so this event was the perfect opportunity to get everyone together and showcase our unique personality.”

As well as Simon challenging customers to a game of darts, the player’s sponsor – Leyland – was offering exceptional discounts on selected products during the event.

David added: “Since opening our Glasgow store back in September, we’ve been overwhelmed with the positive response from our customers. It is our second Scottish offering – following our Edinburgh store’s success – and this has allowed us to provide a wide range of quality and affordable products to our valued trade customers across the entire Scottish market.”

Simon Whitlock added: “It’s great to see such enthusiasm for events like this. Glasgow’s tradesmen were up to the challenge and kept me on my toes all day long. Stax’s latest Glasgow store is a great place to bring both work and play together, with a little added competitiveness! The event reflects the business’ positive ethos, offering customers a chance to show off their expert darts skills in a fun environment.”
