Following a very successful promotion in all SPAR Scotland company owned stores with Rollover during December; £4,000 has been donated to SPAR’s national charity partner, Marie Curie.

In addition to the £2,000 from Rollover, SPAR Scotland match-funded the donation and provided a further £2,000.

Stephen Brown, Head of Food to Go at SPAR Scotland, said: “It was great to partner with Rollover on this campaign to help our national charity partner Marie Curie. By working together, we were able to boost sales whilst raising vital funds for Marie Curie.

David Dewhurst, Regional Manager for Scotland at Rollover said: “I am so pleased the success of our promotion and partnership with SPAR Scotland has benefitted a great cause and charity – Marie Curie. A big thank you to all our customers who supported us by buying our hotdogs and to SPAR Scotland for partnering with us and for match-funding the donation.”

Christine Connor, Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy Manager at Marie Curie said: “We were delighted to learn that Rollover had approached SPAR Scotland in December to support Marie Curie. I am so pleased that increased sales helped to raise £4,000.00 in such customer friendly and tasty way! Thank you to everyone at Rollover, SPAR Scotland and your customers. The support of the campaign enables Marie Curie to reach more people and their loved ones in our communities who need our care and support as they approach end of life.”

The SPAR Scotland team at the Dundee depot also did some extra fundraising over the Christmas period and raised £600 from the staff Christmas raffle.

SPAR UK has raised £2 million for Marie Curie since the national charity partnership began in 2017, the equivalent of 100,000 hours of care from a Marie Curie Nurse.
