Sugro UK, member-owned buying and marketing group with its 95 members and a combined turnover of over £2.5 billion, has, once again, delivered another excellent trade show event for its Members and Supply Partners.

More than 270 members, suppliers, and Sugro guests attended Sugro’s annual trade show at the Liverpool Exhibition Centre. With an increased number of Members and Suppliers joining the Group, this spacious venue was a perfect fit to accommodate the group’s growing requirements. With many more supplier stands, there was space allowance for X Factor execution, with some suppliers going an extra mile with their displays, some of the examples being Cadbury Cre?me Egg Car, Pepsico UK Walkers Snacks Doritos Extra Flaming Hot Fire Engine, Jimmy’s Ice Coffee Sun Loungers, Kellogg’s Football Camps Van and even a coffin from Liquid Death!

The evening continued with a very special dinner at St George’s Hall attended by 220 guests during which the Member & Supplier Awards Ceremony took place with E-Natural Ltd being awarded with Environmental & Sustainability Award whilst Brand Factory Ltd was recognised with Digital Champion of the Year Award. Sandea Wholesale took the Group Rising Star Award and Courtney & Nelson Ltd won Retail Member of the Year. The Community & Charity Champion Award went to Morris & Son Ltd., and ICS Ltd won the Foodservice Wholesaler Award. The last but not least member award went to Shree Sai Trading Ltd – Specialist Wholesale Award.

Meanwhile, in the Supplier awards, the Best Activation of the Year Award went to Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, Pepsico UK Walkers Snack Ltd took the Digital Champion of the Year Award whilst Group Rising Star Award went to Bazooka Candy Brands International. The Gold Supplier of the Year Award went to Britvic Soft Drinks Ltd whilst Product of the Year recognition was given to Red Bull JUNEBERRY PM £1.45 250ml.

The evening continued with fantastic entertainment from a previous EastEnders actor, Sean Williamson, doing his now famous Barrioke.

Sugro Managing Director, Emma Senior said: “As Sugro reaches it’s 40 birthday this year, the group goes from strength to strength. Moving to a much larger venue this year is testament to our continued growth, as we welcomed more members, suppliers and Business Partners than ever before. The supplier stands were unmissable and member feedback was exceptionally strong.

I also had the great privilege of presenting our awards with ‘Barry Evans’ on stage. Many congratulations to our supplier winners, who truly support the Sugro Group and its strategy for growth. Our members were also recognised through sponsored awards from Suppliers. Congratulations on their well-deserved recognition.

Sugro Head of Commercial & Marketing Yulia Petitt added: “We were exceptionally pleased with a high level of attendance and participation where all attendees had many opportunities to interact, network and continue to drive the business forward by capitalising on key elements of Sugro’s commercial strategy which is focused on further digitalisation, diversification, and business development. The trade show was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the Group with our Members and Supply Partners, well done to the Winners of the awards.”
