At Wholesale Manager we pride ourselves on being innovative and independent in the way we do things. We’re here because we know the wholesale market wants a publication dedicated to you, with the latest information from the suppliers on whom you rely for the best selling products and big name brands.

Our pledge is to present this news in a refreshing, accessible way. It might take a little time to get used to our style because it is different, but then again, the best new things always take a bit of getting used to.

Before we launched, we researched what you, the readers were looking for, and we reckon we’re getting there. We’ve got a mix of news and features that fit the bill for today’s wholesalers. In this issue we’ve got features on Back To School, Christmas and Home Baking.

As September approaches, ‘Back To School’ is very big business. The Back To School opportunity for cash ‘n’ carries and delivered wholesalers takes in food and drink items for the lunch box on one hand and clothing, footwear and home stationery on the other.

At first glance home baking might not seem a very sexy category, but it has a lot going for it in these tough times. Taking out the effects of inflation from rising commodity prices, it’s still pretty healthy, with plenty of profit opportunities for cash ‘n’ carries and delivered wholesalers serving neighbourhood stores.

And finally there’s the ‘C’ word – Christmas! Despite the continuing recession and ongoing uncertainty about the economy, there’s one thing wholesale managers can be sure of. Christmas is coming round again in a few months’ time, and as always it’s going to be an extremely big business opportunity, as consumers do their best to forget about their troubles and enjoy themselves with friends and family. Have you started planning yet?

Our ambition is for Wholesale Manager to be the title of choice wholesale managers turn to when they want a good read – in print or digitally. Hence we’re publishing this in print, digital format and on our web site. Happy reading, wherever and however you’re reading this!
