Tapp’d Cocktails, (www.tappd.com), creators of the UK’s only mixologist quality ready-to-drink cocktails, has just announced its listing with Unitas Wholesale, the UK’s largest independent wholesale buying group.
Unitas intends to support the growth of Tapp’d Cocktails by expanding the brand into the wholesale market, as the consumer demand for ready-to-drink cocktails continues to grow. This is set to be a big focus this year, with beverage makers poised to flood the market with more of these trending products throughout 2023. RTD cocktails were the fastest-growing spirits category in both revenue and volume in 2021, according to the report issued by the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States. Supplier revenue for these cocktails and spirits rose 42.3% to $1.6 billion during the period.
Tapp’d Cocktails has already seen roaring success in the UK, with D2C sales booming and a trial launch into Morrisons in East Anglia which is set to expand nationwide in 2023. In terms of on-trade success, the cocktails are also available in over 15,000 UK pubs, having forged strong partnerships with key wholesalers.
Tapp’d Cocktails was set up in 2018 by James O’Hara, who spent the majority of his professional career in mathematics and software engineering. Noticing a gap in the market for high quality, pre-mixed cocktails, he spent a year in research and development creating the unique mixologist quality bottled cocktail range that is now Tapp’d Cocktails.
Having originally launched bottled ready to drink cocktails as a more premium offering, the brand have also expanded into the canned market to target younger drinkers and increase availability at more portable occasions such as festivals.
