The Wholesale Group has expanded its CHEF Approved desserts offer with a new 12-strong cheesecake range, available through its independent wholesale members for foodservice operators across care homes, coffee shops, cafés, pubs, restaurants and wider hospitality.

Developed for busy professional kitchens, the frozen, thaw-and-serve range has been designed to combine broad menu appeal with practical back-of-house benefits including easy storage, simple preparation, portion control and reduced waste.

The range includes four gluten-free options — Blackcurrant & Prosecco, Strawberry, Black Cherry & Dark Chocolate and a gluten-free, vegan Raspberry & Gin cheesecake — giving caterers a more inclusive dessert offer without adding complexity in the kitchen. That is increasingly important in foodservice, with Coeliac UK reporting in January 2025 that 77% of surveyed gluten-free diners had experienced unintentional gluten consumption when eating out, while 93% said they felt more confident at venues holding recognised gluten-free accreditation.

Alongside this, the range features pre-portioned cheesecakes such as White Chocolate & Raspberry, Sicilian Lemon, Caramelised Biscuit and Toffee & Honeycomb. Supplied ready-sliced, these formats help operators save preparation time, defrost only what they need and maintain consistent portion sizes, supporting both efficiency and cost control in busy kitchens.

A further four uncut fruit-topped cheesecakes — Strawberry, Mandarin, Blackcurrant and Fruits of the Forest — bring a dependable, value-led option to the range. Made with a crunchy digestive biscuit base, creamy vanilla filling and real fruit toppings, they are supplied uncut to give operators flexibility over portion size across everyday dessert menus. In a market where value remains firmly in focus, YouGov found that 62% of UK adults who expect their finances to worsen in 2026 plan to cut back on eating and drinking out, reinforcing the need for desserts that feel reliable, accessible and commercially sound.
