Ex-Welsh Rugby International and current NFL start Lewis Rees Zammit has joined forces with a Welsh wholesaler in order to energise the soft drinks category.
Launching Savitar, a brand new range of non-carbonated sports performance drinks, Lewis Rees Zammit has appointed family-run Castell Howell Foods as the exclusive Welsh wholesaler for the brand.
The brand, which includes pre-, intra- and post-workout variants with a bespoke blend of vitamins to suit each level of activity, has been created by the rugby star and his team to support athletic excellence, using only top-quality ingredients.
His mission, he says, is simple: “to redefine the sports drink industry by offering a superior alternative to carbonated beverages – one that embodies the essence of athleticism and elevates the standards of hydration”.
And, with such high standards for his products, Rees Zammit also carried out research into the best solutions for distribution, appointing the Caterforce member, which was named Regional Wholesaler of the Year 2024 at The Grocer Gold awards, as exclusive partner.
