Tiger Foodservice, the new ‘one stop shop’ delivered wholesaler launched earlier this year, has merged three regional depots to create one national hub as part of a drive to streamline operations and better serve its customers.

Regional distribution centres previously located in Derby, West Bromwich and Peterborough are now operating from under one roof at the company’s 100,000 sq. ft warehouse and headquarters in Nottingham.

“One central location means better efficiencies both in terms of stock provision and order processing, as well as improved distribution and service levels for all our customers, wherever they’re based,” comments Steve Davison, Director of Tiger Foodservice.

The Nottingham hub, on the city’s Lenton Road industrial estate, has invested in ambient storage, freezers and chillers to accommodate increased demand for more than 3,000 lines including fresh fruit, vegetables, premium fresh meat and a strong own-brand range.

“Consumer expectations of out of home dining remain high and caterers need to meet those demands in order to maximise long-term gains,” adds Steve. “We expect it to be exceptionally busy over the next few weeks as people celebrate the festive period and beyond, free from the restrictions that we experienced last year, so this more streamlined operation couldn’t have come at a better time.”
