New vegan pet food brand, Noochy Poochy, has achieved listings with a host of stores and wholesalers following research into vegan vitamin.

Noochy Poochy, a cheesy flavour dog food created by vegan vet Lucy McKinna, launched this summer with the claim they placed ‘transparency at the heart of what they do’. In line with this ethos, Lucy explained that the brand couldn’t, at that point, call itself vegan due to the vitamin D3 used;

“Vitamin D3 is vital for a complete dog food, in order to provide everything your dog needs to stay fit and healthy. We weren’t convinced that the vegan D3 options on the market would be stable throughout the cooking process, so needed to be sure before we could go to market as fully vegan.”

Thus Lucy, and her team, set about finding a vegan D3, which would remain stable throughout the production process. They were successful, securing D3 made from algae, and, following rounds of independent tests, Noochy Poochy can now claim to be one of the only dry dog foods that is 100% vegan and complete. As a consequence, the brand has gained listings in independent pet shops and wholesalers, including Tree of Life, with their 2kg recyclable bags, and, as part of their sustainability drive, are already supplying in bulk to Zero Waste shops across the UK.

I’m really looking forward to Noochy Poochy launching with Tree of Life in November and hope that our customers are big fans of this 100% vegan pet food.Ellie Smith, Buyer at Tree of Life.
