Sun-Pat aims to encourage kids and teenagers to embrace sporting activity during the winter months, by spreading the energy across the nation.

In a recent survey, Sun-Pat uncovered that 24% of teens feel they lack the energy needed for after-school activities, while 40% of 16 year olds feel pressure to do well in school as well as afterschool.

The competition will see 10 winning sports teams each receive one thousand pounds worth of vouchers for sports kit or equipment, with one lucky winning team having the opportunity of meeting Olympian Greg Rutherford. Each winning team will also be given a year’s supply of delicious Sun-Pat.

David Atkinson, Managing Director Grocery, The Hain Daniels Group, said: “We are thrilled to be working with Greg. He is an inspirational athlete as well as a family man – who understands the value of getting active and eating well. We want to spread the word that Sun-Pat can help maintain energy levels through healthy snacking.

“By providing some energy, sports kit and equipment in our competition, we hope to give kids up and down the country the added motivation they need to take part in whichever sport they choose. And we hope they share their team stories and pictures with us.”

The competition opened on the 1st November 2015 on the Sun-Pat Facebook page www.facebook.com/SunPatOfficial and all types of sports teams can be nominated, from hockey and football to gymnastics and athletics. The person nominating the team needs to be 18+. Competition ends 4th December 2015.
