Leading Irish chocolatier, Lir Chocolates, is expanding its Baileys Chocolate range introducing a new Easter egg alongside the return of seasonal favourites for Easter 2023 to help retailers maximise the key confectionery sales period. Baileys Chocolate has launched its brand-new Baileys Chocolate Original Easter Egg, which taps into consumers looking for luxury eggs for adults and is available from Asda, Sainsbury’s, Ocado and NISA stores nationwide, RRP £8, from mid-February.

The Baileys Chocolate Easter Egg includes a milk chocolate shell egg with a hint of the iconic flavour of Baileys Irish cream liqueur and eight of the original Baileys Chocolate Truffles. This innovative new egg is completely enclosed in a striking carton with no plastic fitments as Baileys Chocolate continue their journey towards reducing plastic from their packaging and providing more sustainable products for consumers to shop. As part of this plan the Baileys Original & Salted Caramel Mini Delights 102g are now packaged in recyclable plastic which has reduced their nonrecyclable plastic by 570kg p.a!

The new Baileys Chocolate Original Easter Egg will join the existing Baileys Chocolates Easter range including the Baileys Sundae Easter Egg, Baileys Luxe Mini Eggs, Baileys Strawberries & Cream Easter Egg, and the Baileys Salted Caramel Easter Egg.

Premiumisation within the chocolate sector continues to grow across all points of sale with consumers demanding more from their products than ever before. The launch of Baileys Chocolate Original Easter Egg is set to offer consumers a premium Easter egg for adults from a trusted and well-known brand at a cost-effective price point.

Alison Robson, Baileys Chocolate Marketing Manager, said: “Easter remains a huge opportunity for the Baileys Chocolate brand, in 2022 we experienced our strongest Easter yet with the Sundae Egg being a particular hit with consumers.

We have seen the market for ‘Adult Easter’ expand and the demand for luxury eggs for adults increase. We’re excited for Easter 2023 as we launch our new Baileys Chocolate Original Easter Egg and hope to replicate last year’s success with the help of our NPD and new national supermarket listings.”

Lir was founded in 1987 by Connie Doody and Mary White and since then, the craft behind truly exceptional hand-finished and hand-decorated chocolates has been central to the business. The team at Lir is constantly exploring, experimenting, and pushing the boundaries of what is possible at the hands of the modern chocolatier.
