BCP signs up Chadd’s and Gordon & MacPhail

Software specialist BCP continues to attract new clients despite the recession. Latest customers are whisky specialist and wine & spirit merchant, Gordon & MacPhail – investing in Accord® Voice WMS to cover its warehouse operation from door-to-door at its headquarters in Elgin, Scotland, and foodservice and retail supplier Chadd’s of Bude – investing in a complete Accord® distribution system to cover its operations in Bude and at its sister company Foodsmiths in Saltash, Cornwall.

Established in 1895, family owned and managed Gordon & MacPhail is one of Scotland’s leading independent whisky specialists through wholesaling, bottling, exporting and distilling – owning Benromach Distillery in Forres.

Investment in Voice technology was prompted by the company’s wish to modernise and improve warehouse efficiency by replacing its paper-based warehouse management system with the latest technology.

In a very competitive selection process, BCP’s Accord® was chosen due to its ability to provide a flexible, integrated warehouse management solution able to deliver proven Voice functionality across the whole warehouse.

The multi-user Accord® Voice WMS will be implemented in Spring 2011 and will use XML to interface directly to Gordon & MacPhail’s existing stock management system.

Chadd’s is one of the leading suppliers to the catering trade in Devon and Cornwall. The company offers an extensive range of frozen, chilled and dry goods, encompassing a diverse range of Fine Foods and local produce, to a broad customer base – from hotels, restaurants, pubs and schools to theme parks and visitor attractions.

Having outgrown its bespoke solution, Chadd’s was keen to invest in the latest technology in order to modernise and improve warehouse efficiency across its multi-depot operation.

In a very thorough and lengthy selection process, Accord® was chosen because of BCP’s long sector experience and Accord’s ability to provide a flexible, integrated business wide solution able to deliver proven benefits across both sites.

BCP responded positively to Chadd’s desire for an early implementation getting the 15 user system up and running in February, only weeks after the decision to invest was made.
