Brakes has been named the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) Fish Supplier of the Year in the UK for the second year running. The award recognises suppliers’ commitment to sourcing MSC certified products and promoting sustainable choices.
The win follows Brakes becoming the first foodservice wholesaler in the UK to commit to the Sustainable Fish Cities pledge.
Adam Swan, Category Director at Brakes: “It is a fantastic honour to win this award. We introduced the first MSC product to the foodservice industry more than ten years ago and have recently signed the Sustainable Fish Cities pledge. I think that this demonstrates that we are happy to set the standard.
“We are committed to delivering certified products, stocking around 120 MSC products. We work closely with customers and our supply chain to ensure they can make sustainable choices, where possible.”
