We all like figgy pudding, and now we can all enjoy some as Brakes launches a gluten-free version in time for the festive season.
The company’s glutenfree sticky figgy pudding, a rich fig sponge smothered in a sticky toffee sauce, fills a gap in the market for an alternative to the traditional Christmas pudding for those with special dietary requirements and also those who just prefer to avoid gluten.
The treat, made with British butter and eggs, comes in an individual 160g portion that can be cooked in its pot straight from the freezer with no defrosting necessary. Cook for around 65 seconds in the microwave, rest and then invert to drench the sponge in the hot, sticky sauce.
The individual portion not only reduces waste by allowing the puddings to be cooked on demand, but also prevents any cross contamination with product containing gluten. Cases contain 12 puddings.
