dpp_ProRetail2010_172Cadbury, Heinz, Mars, Pfizer, PepsiCo, Sony and GSK will be among the 220 plus exhibitors at Palmer and Harvey’s Pro-retail on 10 and 11 May. Stand space at the annual trade show is selling at record speeds with a 20 per cent increase in sales compared to this time last year.  The show is now 90 per cent sold out.

This year’s event will see presentations and retail master-classes by Mary Portas, the straight-talking star of makeover TV and champion of independent retail. Retailers will also have the chance to take part in interactive learning sessions on a range of issues from applying for an alcohol licence to using the internet to inform store merchandising. Suppliers will use the event to showcase their latest products, hold tastings and information sessions and talk attendees through ways to maximise sales.

‘The fact that major brands choose to launch high-profile new products and initiatives at Pro-retail demonstrates how seriously the industry takes the show. It really is a way to capture the attention of some of the most influential players in the sector,’ said Richard Hayhoe, P&H marketing director. ‘Every year exhibitors inject huge amounts of creativity and energy into the event, making it a really exciting place to be.’

Pro-retail is the must-attend event in the calendar for independent and multiple convenience retailers attracting over 6,500 visitors. Held in Telford, Shropshire, Pro-retail draws more than 220 leading suppliers and manufacturers, making it a not-to-miss industry event for exhibitors and visitors alike.

P&H’s symbol offer, Mace, will also appear at Pro-retail. Visitors will be able to see and sample first-hand the Mace Food to go concept that is currently rolling out nationwide. They will be able to hear directly from Mace retailers on how they’ve grown their businesses, and immerse themselves fully in the Mace experience with the biggest Mace store ever staged at Pro-retail. The largest ever forecourt store will demonstrate the flexibility of the Mace brand.

Help and advice will be on hand from leading industry experts and P&H’s own buyers and marketing managers at this year’s category zones, which will focus on chilled foods and alcohol, the fastest-growing convenience categories in the UK.

All of 2011’s initiatives are an integral part of P&H’s aim to deliver an interactive and educational event that showcases best-in-class solutions for independent retailers.

Pro Retail takes place on Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 May 2011 at the International Centre in Telford, Shropshire.
