Nairn’s the UK’s number one producer of oatcakes and number one gluten free brand[1] grows its presence within the convenience sector, with a new listing in Dhamecha Cash & Carry. One of the UK’s largest independent cash and carry wholesalers, the Dhamecha Group recorded a turnover of £753 million at the year-end 31st March 2018.
Having enjoyed continued success within the large multiple retailers, Nairn’s is now focusing on providing a tailored approach for the convenience channel to help smaller food outlets widen their healthier, free-from options. This expansion shows the ongoing commitment from Nairn’s to provide healthy, all natural, on the go snacks to consumers, and supports the current growing demand for healthy living.
The new listing will include Nairn’s latest innovative product launches: Pop Oats – the first ever, gluten free popped oat snack, and an Oat Bar range which has 40% less sugar than the average fruit/cereal bar, both of which tap into the growing ‘on the go’ occasion. Made purely for the convenience channel, the Dhamecha listing will also comprise of priced-marked packs for the Rough and Fine Milled Oatcakes. Both will come in cases of eight with the £1 price flash prominent for stand out on shelf. This format has long been favoured by C-stores to indicate value to their shoppers, so promises to be well received by customers.
Scott McPherson, National Account Manager at Nairn’s, comments: “We’re continuing to grow our customer base and awareness of our gluten-free range and price-marked packs, and this new listing with Dhameca Cash & Carry strengthens our position within the convenience channel. Along with a wide range of fantastic new products that we’ve consistently introduced over the last couple of years, the introduction of price marked packs for our best selling Oatcakes demonstrates our aspirations to continue supporting sales within C-stores. We have no doubt that our products will do well with this new listing in Dhameca.”
