Who doesn’t love a profiterole? Funnybones Foodservice have introduced an exclusive new dessert which is an update of this popular classic dish. The new version is fruity and sophisticated – ideal as a pudding or as part of a sweet sharing platter and perfect for celebrations and special events like Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day.
The new Raspberry and Prossecco Profiteroles are made from crisp choux pastry, filled with a raspberry and prosecco flavour cream, dipped in white chocolate and then drizzled with a raspberry sauce. The finished result is layers of textures and flavours that look and taste delicious.
“Choux pastry is currently having a moment in the spotlight with éclairs and small choux bites being right on trend. This twist on a classic dessert has been given a freshness of flavour with raspberry and prosecco and is perfect for those celebration occasions like Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day, perhaps served with a glass of Prosecco,” says Tom Styman-Heighton, Development Chef at Funnybones Foodservice.
“There’s lots of scope with this dessert – elegant enough to grace a wedding or any big event, ideal for a café or restaurant dessert. The individual profiteroles are also perfect as a component of a sharing dessert and make great sweet canapés.”
The Raspberry and Prosecco Profiteroles arrive frozen in a case containing two 1 kg re-sealable bags, each of which contains over 50-55 pieces. We suggest five pieces per portion and they are suitable for vegetarians. The profiteroles need only defrosting before serving, but the addition of a few fresh raspberries and a sprig of mint would make a pretty garnish.
