To allow for business growth and expansion, EHL Ingredients has settled in new premises in Stockport, Cheshire, occupying a 20,000 square foot warehouse with integrated offices. The company has moved its headquarters from Manchester (10,000 square foot), enabling it to expand its storage facilities and also to improve the efficiency of its blending and re-packing processes.

EHL Ingredients has been supplying high quality, natural ingredients to the food industry for 16 years and witnessed a marked uplift in new customers during the last year. The decision was taken to move to Stockport to accommodate the growing team and also facilitate the BRC accreditation.

Relocation

Company founder and MD Emma Haq says: “One of the main reasons for the relocation was not only to allow us to grow the business but also to achieve the recognised standard of food safety management from the BRC. The new larger facility means we now have a blending room, packing room and other key facilities on site and room for growth.”

The company has been working towards its BRC accreditation and was awarded a grade A certification following a rigourous audit process. This will give EHL’s customers the reassurance of the company’s quality and safety management processes and will open up new growth opportunities for the business.

It has also announced the appointment of Christine Peers as Sales Manager, bringing with her over 20 years experience in the food ingredients industry in both sales and purchasing roles. She will provide the EHL Sales team with some key industry insights and market knowledge. She will also help drive the company forwards to achieve its growth targets. This takes the total number of EHL staff to 25.

Emma says: “It is a fantastic achievement for us to have been awarded the A Grade from the BRC. This is the first time we have applied for the certification and we are pleased to be able to reassure our customers that our facilities are second-to-none, as well as environmentally friendly.

“We are also delighted to welcome Christine to the team. She will be a valuable asset to the company and contribute to our growth and success.

“It’s an exciting time for all at EHL Ingredients, with the business going from strength to strength. Our expansion and the growth of our product portfolio require additional staff, making the move into larger premises essential.”
