Dalston’s Soda Company bring four new craft sodas to the UK market proving they really are leading the new generation of craft sodas
Following a year of rapid growth, Dalston’s Soda Company is kick-starting 2019 with the launch of four brand-new SKUs, hitting fridges across the UK from the beginning of January – something worth adopting Dry-January for.
They’ll be introducing two new fruity flavours: Fizzy Rhubarb and Fizzy Blackcurrant to their core range of sodas. And a brand new range of Soda Lights: Real Squeezed Elderflower and Real Squeezed Rhubarb – made with no added sugar or sweeteners and under 20 calories a can.
Over the last year alone, Dalston’s has sold more than 2 million cans of their Classic sodas. They’re stocked in over 2,500 shops across the UK and are currently growing at a rate of 148%. Sharing the soda love with the rest of the world, they launched into 4 export countries in 2018, with another 6 in the pipeline.
With young people dramatically reducing their alcohol intake and looking for healthier, booze-free alternatives, this really is the time for natural soft drinks to shine. So it’s no wonder Dalston’s are listening, innovating and developing the recipes their consumers are asking for.
All of the soda recipes at Dalston’s continue to be developed in-house by former chef and founder, Duncan O’Brien. All four of the new flavours are made with British ingredients sourced by Duncan – and each massively over-deliver on the Dalston’s promise: ‘soda with soul’.
“Millennials are losing their taste for sugar, and placing even more emphasis on health. That’s why we chose to develop our new range of Lights – which we’ll be adding to, over the next few years. Competitors cram their ‘diet’ drinks with sweeteners or artificial flavourings which is not good for you. It was time for us to step up and show what naturally light, refreshingly fruity sodas should really taste like.”
Dalston’s Classics are already lower in sugar than their rivals, and look set to come in below the sugar tax threshold by April 2019. Designed to complement the Classics, Dalston’s brand-new Lights contain absolutely no added sugar or sweeteners – just fruit and sparkling spring water.
