Nisa Local in Scotter near Gainsborough has donated £1,000 to Scotter Juniors Football Club through Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally charity initiative.
The club’s junior players recently visited the Nisa Local store in Scotter to thank store manager Gurinder Nijjar for the store’s significant contribution towards a new pavilion development project.
The donation will assist in the football club’s vision of developing their pavilion, which is currently out of action due to its age and requires a new floor.
As part of their vision to redevelop, they intend to develop a kitchen to aid with events hosted at Scotter to raise further funds for the club.
Nisa Local Scotter is a convenience store located in Scotter near Gainsborough and has been a Nisa retailer for over ten years. The store offers a wide variety of groceries, household items, and other convenience products.
Nisa Local Scotter is committed to supporting its local community and has so far donated almost £8,000 into the community through MADL. Recent donations included projects operated by the Bearded Fishermen, Scotter Village Hall and Playing Field Youth Shelter.
MADL raises funds in Nisa partner stores from sales of all Co-op own-label products, with a percentage going into a virtual fund for retailers to donate. Additional funds can also be raised via in-store collecting tins and clothing banks.
“Scotter Juniors is deeply embedded within the Scotter community,” said club chairman Liam Wilson. “Many of our players attend Scotter Primary School, highlighting our commitment to the area’s youth. This generous donation from Nisa will significantly support our plans to improve both the playing experience and our wider community involvement.
“We are incredibly grateful to Gurinder and the entire Nisa team for their belief in our project.”
Kate Carroll, Head of Charity at Nisa, added: “Retailers like Gurinder are at the heart of their communities and can be a huge support to community groups in their area. It is brilliant to read that the funding will be put towards the pavilion development project which will benefit hundreds of people.”
