Parfetts Cash & Carry’s Somercotes depot near Derby has undergone a major refurbishment with new rack ends, racking, energy efficient lighting and state-of-the art refrigeration installed across the depot.
Over £350,000 been invested across the depot, including the new rack ends which have helped to improve the layout and appearance of the depot, as well as signposting customers to a particular category and is also used to promote special offers, own brands and the wholesaler initiatives and retail club.
As part of the interior improvements, the depot has also had its cigarette room relayed with help from JTI.

General Manager of Somercotes, Iain Bell explained: “The changes have instantly lifted the appearance of the depot and helped to improve customer navigation around the depot. Feedback has been excellent and, whilst it may only be a cosmetic change in parts, it definitely has enhanced the shopping experience for the majority of our customers.
“The new rack ends have also improved our promotional awareness in-depot and helped to better communicate any special offers and deals we have running which is more effective for us, our supporting suppliers and our customers.”
The depot improvements are part of a major refurbishment programme that the wholesaler has undertaken across its depots over the past 18 months. This includes introducing a new canopy at Halifax and refurbishing the tobacco room at its Aintree depot.
